We are committed to a healthy eating policy at Scallywags. Meals are freshly cooked on site with menus that rotate over a 4 week period. Our dedicated cook works with our Early Years Practitioners to ensure that the children get the correct balance in their diet. The children eat a healthy, balanced and multi-cultural diet. We also ensure that the children are offered the recommended 5 pieces of fruit and vegetables each day.
Special dietary requirements are catered for wherever possible.
Breakfast is served in the morning with a fruit snack in the afternoon.
A combination of veggies & dip, fresh fruit, sandwiches, soups etc. are served for lunch.
At 4.30pm the children eat a hot meal allowing parents the luxury of playing with their children before bed rather than cooking for them.
Small babies are cooked for separately and are gradually introduced to the main menu at the appropriate time with hot lunches being served until around the age of 12 months.
Milk and water are the usual drinks available
